Kitty was having a hard time reading her papers. The words seemed to blur. The letters seemed to switch around. Kitty checked her water. It was water. Kitty checked her food. It smelled and tasted fine. Kitty forgot all about the shaking when she was so hungry.
Alone in the apartment, Kitty decided to step out on the balcony for some fresh cold April air. The balcony was in disuse, she had not come out to clean it since last year. Oh well. Kitty didn't want to clean it now. She had papers to read and mark. How tedious.
What did Kitty really want to do? She wanted to dream. She wanted to do the things that make her dream real and nothing else. Perhaps she should give up all her other commitments. But they are so substantial now, she was mired in. She was afraid to change. Changing her ways meant new adventures surely? Kitty wasn't sure. So, she dreamed less.
She must get through one paper at least today, she thought. Then she could enjoy the weather, then she could go food shopping for nicer food. Kitty liked to cook food. She especially liked to cook food for Ruggles. Ruggles likes to eat Kitty's cooking. That's great. Kitty thought about food instead of her dreams.
